Home Studies in Georgia
We have the nicest caseworkers!
We realize that going through the home study process can feel like an invasion of your personal life. Our caseworkers are contract workers so we can choose to work with the best. We only work with those who are kind and thoughtful, as well as professional and knowledgeable, so that this experience will contribute to your confidence in the process.
Our agency works on the premise that caseworkers won’t just tell you that you are not qualified for some reason, they will tell you what you need to do to be qualified and then will walk you through the process and check back with you as you make progress toward that goal.
We feel it’s important for you to trust the people you rely on so we do everything we can to contribute to that trust.
Crystal Adoptions takes pride in one of the best home study processes in the state. We are thorough, professional, compassionate, and fair in our dealings and our fees.
Preparation: Georgia has some of the strictest and most extensive requirements for adopting and we make it our goal to prepare you as thoroughly as possible to work with the state requirements when it is time. During the process you will be given checklists to follow to ensure that all paperwork is in order.
Visits: Most home study reports require 3 visits which you will set up with your personal caseworker who will work with you on a mutual scheduling.
Time to Finish: Our caseworkers are very good about getting reports done in a timely manner. We do also offer expedited work for an extra fee. A normal home study usually takes our agency 2-3 months. The time required varies depending on how fast we get your information from you and how quickly we can get the information we will need from other sources (FBI, Doctors, etc.).
Post-Placement Reports – After your adoption we arrange to meet with you and your new family to prepare the required post reports before finalization.
You will be required to do a certain amount of reports before the finalization of your adoption. The number of these reports depends upon the state you adoption from and we will help you determine how many of those you will need.
Post-Adoption Services – Once you bring your child home, your caseworker will check on you and give you information about how to adjust to your new life as an adoptive parent.
We also offer information on counseling, adoption resources, adoption tax preparation professionals, and support groups for adoptive parents.
